He has led the Obama administration’s push for increases in the federal minimum wage at state and local levels while Congress has resisted such calls. Even as the job market has continued to heal since the financial crisis and Great Recession, Perez acknowledges that there’s “unfinished business” in improving the lives of the nation’s workers.
